Chapati/Roti is an Indian flatbread made with whole wheat flour. It can be prepared in one hour or less and needs no leavening agents.

- 2 cups Whole wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon Ghee
- 1 cup Hot water
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- Whole wheat flour extra for rolling

Instructions
- Combine whole wheat flour, ghee, and salt in a bowl.
- Add hot water little by little, combine using a spoon and set aside to cool down a bit.
- Knead well to form a soft dough. (If the dough is too dry, add more hot water) Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes.
- Knead the dough again and divide into medium-sized balls.
- Roll the balls into thin circles by dusting flour.
- Heat a tawa and cook the rolled chapati. Gently press the top of the chapati to make it puffed. Cook both sides. (Don't flip the chapati more than two times during cooking)
- Serve warm with any veg or nonveg curry of your choice.
- NOTE - One cup = 250 ml, one tablespoon = 15 ml, one teaspoon = 5 ml.
- I used Aashirvaad atta in this recipe.
