Garlic Rice
Garlic rice is a garlic flavored butter rice garnished with crunchy garlic chips.

  • 2cups Basmati rice
  • 3 1/2 cups Boiling water
  • 4tablespoons Butter
  • 3tablespoons Garlicchopped
  • 1/2teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • Saltto taste
For Garnishing
  • 1 1/2tablespoons GarlicSliced
  • Oilfor deep frying
  1. Wash and soak the rice for 15 minutes. Drain the water and keep aside.
  2. Heat butter in a large pan. Add the chopped garlic and cook until the garlic starts to turn golden. Add rice and stir for 5 minutes.
  3. Add boiling water and salt. Cover and cook on low flame till the water is dried completely and the rice is cooked. Add pepper powder and mix the rice with a fork.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the garlic slices until golden and crisp. Drain it on a paper towel and discard the oil.
  5. Garnish the cooked garlic rice with fried garlic slices. Serve with chilli chicken, ginger chicken, etc.
  6. Note – One cup = 250 ml, one tablespoon = 15 ml, one teaspoon = 5 ml.
